Amsterdam is known for it’s canals, with the canal cruise as the number one tourist attraction of the city. And rightly so, it’s a comfortable way to explore the city. Amsterdam offers different kind of canal cruises. Whichever canal cruise you choose to take, you’ll have a magical experience.
City Canal Cruise
This is the most common cruise. Our canals have been awarded UNESCO’s World Heritage status and taking this 75-minute City Canal Cruise will reveal why. Passing all of the city’s highlights, this is simply the most relaxing and fun way to see the city.
When the sun goes down romantic Amsterdam appears. The illuminated buildings, bridges and boats give the city an almost fairytale-like appearance. Enjoy a drink and listen to the audio guide. This Evening Cruise will also sail through part of the famous red-light district (where the daytime cruise does not go).
Would you like to have a dinner on a unique location? During weekends our boats transform to restaurants. Glide by the beautifully lit buildings, quaint little canals, houseboats and bridges while you enjoy dinner.
On board the Hard Rock Café host will serve you tortilla chips with salsa, followed by a famous Hard Rock Burger (you can choose out of cheese or veggie). You will end your meal with a chocolate brownie.
Basically, a dinner cruise, which starts with a light snack and a drink and soon moves on to your pizza. Your favourite pizza will be delivered to you during the canal cruise.
While your parents listen to their story during the kids cruise, you go on your own adventure! Spot all the animals in the city of Amsterdam with your freshwater binoculars, design a lucky sign and a tattoo for Harold the cat, draw the perfect ship-house and… become a certified Freshwater Pirate!
During this canal cruise you pass the places that – one way or another – inspired works of art from the collection of the Rijksmuseum.
Hop On Hop Off
With the hop on hop off canal cruise, you can hop and and off at any of the stops whenever you like! That way you can make your Amsterdam sightseeing trip all your own.
Amsterdam’s rich history goes hand in hand with modern architecture along the IJ. Presumably starting out as a small stream, the ‘IJ’ developed into the historic seaport it is today and which was once the VOC’s home port. Countless impressive cruise ships now come to moor in the port every year.
