Corona proof canal cruises in Amsterdam

These are strange times, in which we have to make a lot of adjustments to our daily lives. But that doesn’t mean you have to sit inside all day! In the Netherlands, the main measure is to keep 1,5 meter (five feet) distance between yourself and other people. Even with this measure, there’s tons of fun stuff you can do in gorgeous Amsterdam! For instance, you can check out the beauty of the city from the water – of course according to national measures to control the spread of the coronavirus. At Amsterdam Canal Cruises we follow the measures of the RIVM, which means you can enjoy a corona proof canal cruise at all times!

Are you looking for a corona proof outing? Then you’ve found the right website! All our canal cruises are adjusted to the corona measures; for example we sail with a smaller occupancy. Read all about corona proof sailing in Amsterdam on this page!

Measures for our corona proof canal cruises:

  • We sail with a smaller occupancy on all our boats.
  • We have disinfection dispensers everywhere; as a guest you are obliged to disinfect your hands before entering the checkout house and boarding the boat.
  • A distance of 1,5 meters (five feet) is kept between groups.
  • To avoid crowds at our ticket offices, we ask you to book your tickets in advance online.
  • Our boats are cleaned extra often.
  • The rear deck is closed.

Sailing corona proof in Amsterdam

Do you want to book a canal cruise to see the gorgeous Amsterdam canals? Don’t worry – that’s still possible! As mentioned above, we have a list of measures we follow to make sure you can enjoy a lovely canal cruise, without any worries about being too close to other people on the boat. You can still have a nice day out in Amsterdam and spot gorgeous views such as the Westerkerk – but in a totally corona proof way!

Our big canal cruises

In terms of boat trips in Amsterdam, you can choose one of our large tour boats. Our large canal cruises sail with a smaller occupancy, so only two people are allowed to sit at a table, unless you are out with your entire household. There are also fixed walking routes at the ticket booths, and the way of getting in and out of the boat is also regulated so that everyone can keep a distance from each other. It is also not allowed to walk around during the cruise. The rear deck of our large tour boats is also closed.

Our small open boats

In addition to large canal cruises, you can also book a tour on one of our small open boats on days when the weather permits. This way you discover Amsterdam in the open air – great when it is sunny! Our Blue Sky Boat also has a smaller occupation of course.

Must-knows before booking

Would you like to book one of our canal cruises? Preferably book your canal cruise online. This way there are no lines at our checkout houses. While waiting at the dock of our boats, keep 1,5 meter (five feet) distance from other people. Cough or sneeze into the inside of your elbow.

Stay at home if you have a fever or a cold. In this way we ensure all together that corona proof sailing remains possible.
