If you’ve seen everything in Amsterdam, you need to visit Volendam. There is a surprising amount to do in Volendam. Have you ever heard of the Woltjes Bakery, for example? A woman from Volendam who worked there was introduced to the typical Dutch stroopwafel. She decided she could make this product even better. This is how the Volendam waffle was created: a cake that is really different from the normal, well-known Dutch stroopwafel. If you happen to be curious about what it is like to be a fisherman from Volendam from centuries ago, you’ll like the Volendam Experience.
